Menteri Amran Sebutkan cara cegah musim paceklik

Menteri Pertanian Andi Amran Sulaiman menjamin tahun ini Indonesia, memasuki November sampai Januari 2018, tidak mengalami musim paceklik ataupun musim kekurangan bahan makanan. Untuk mencegah musim paceklik di Indonesia, petani harus menambah luas tanam hingga 1 juta hektare. Jika hanya mencapai 500 ribu hektare, musim paceklik sudah tentu akan terjadi.

“Setelah kami evaluasi, rata-rata satu juta tanam, dari yang dulu hanya 500 ribu hektare. Jadi kami yakin tiga bulan ke depan aman-aman saja. Tidak ada paceklik,” kata Amran di kantor Kementerian Pertanian, Jumat, 15 September 2017.

Amran menegaskan Kementerian Pertanian sudah mengevaluasi bahwa luas tanam, terutama pada masa tanam kritis Juli-Agustus-September. Hasil evaluasi menyebutkan pada saat itu luas tanam sudah mencapai 1 juta hektare sehingga diyakini stok pangan aman dan tidak terjadi paceklik. Ia pun yakin Indonesia bisa melewati akhir tahun tanpa paceklik sama seperti yang terjadi pada 2016.

Amran mengimbau semua sektor pertanian berorientasi pada masa kritis untuk menanam tanaman pangan yang hanya tersisa hingga dua pekan mendatang hingga akhir September. Langkah itu diambil sebagai strategi menyiasati paceklik.

Selain itu, Amran optimistis kekeringan di sebagian wilayah Jawa Barat dapat teratasi dengan berfungsinya Waduk Jatigede. Ia meyakini persiapan menyiasati kekeringan selama tiga tahun dapat berkurang melalui irigasi, penyediaan embung, dan normalisasi waduk.

Berdasarkan laporan Balai Proteksi Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura (BPTPH) periode Januari-Agustus 2017, luas kekeringan tahun 2017 sebanyak 56.334 hektare dan puso 18.516 hektare.

Sebelumnya Perum Bulog menyatakan bakal terus memantau kekeringan dan serangan hama di daerah lumbung padi. Bulog berharap masalah itu tak sampai mengganggu pasokan beras nasional.

Perusahaan negara penyangga bahan pokok itu terus berupaya menyerap beras, antara lain dari petani, dan saat ini telah terkumpul 1,8 juta ton beras. “Beberapa daerah masih panen, rata-rata serapan harian Bulog 10 ribu ton,” kata Direktur Pengadaan Bulog Tri Wahyudi, Kamis lalu. Sejauh ini Bulog belum berencana melakukan impor.

Direktur Utama Bulog Djarot Kusumayakti menjelaskan, jaringan Bulog di seluruh Indonesia berusaha mempertahankan kuantitas serapan. “Awal tahun nanti stok pengamanan akan kami tingkatkan 4 persen,” tuturnya. Dengan begitu, musim panceklik diyakini bisa dicegah
